How many times has your color brochure printing turned into a nightmare? And until recently, cheap color copies were an oxymoron like a cheap luxury hotel room. Even though the technology has not been new for some time now, the copy companies knew that they could charge a fortune for the simplest coping let alone copies for a brochure. Cheap color copies were at least a quarter a page. Being a promoter, this was a difficult situation for me. No one wants to go to a rave where the tickets have been printed in black and white. Since everyone wants to see good graphic, without some form of cheap color copies, I had to invest thousands in just the design and printing. Brochure printing has been out the roof in the past. Things have changed a lot in recent years now that printers are cheaper than ever. Because of this, people can do there own color copies and print them from home. More and smaller companies are doing their brochure printing all in house. Some people want full 4 color brochures while others need cheap color brochure printing, pardon me I meant low cost brochure printing. So In order to keep up, Kinko's and the other large copy businesses have begun to offer cheaper copying and even in color. Now, I wouldn't say that they are cheap if you are only printing out one or two. It still can cost as much as a quarter per copy. Nonetheless, if you print in bulk like I do, it is much easier to get cheap color prints than ever before. But I've found that promoting events with brochures cost me about 60% less money than it used to. In any case whatever brochure services you use just make sure you compare prices and quality of work. The current problem is that if you truly want to get good prices, you have to plan for well before your drop dead date for your brochure printing or flier distribution. You cannot just go into the copy business and run off 200 cheap color prints by yourself. Usually, they won't let you. They don't want you to tie up the copy machines for that long, after all. Instead, you have to give them the sheets for your brochure, that you want copied and wait at least a day for it. If you want cheap color copies, you have to go in ahead of time. If you only give them a day, they consider it a rush order and charge more money this can drive up for your brochure printing or even for simple fliers. The very best way for inexpensive brochure printing and to get cheap color copies, however, is to order them off the Internet. This is quite inconvenient for most purposes, but if you can work out the logistics you should. Sometimes I know about a show at least three weeks in advance for a brochure printing. This gives me the time to order and get great prices. If you can use one of these Internet copy services, I highly advise it. It is much cheaper than Kinko's copies. |
